Wall Street (4, 5)
Welcome to FiDi! You’ve landed in a crowded tourist hub.
Right outside the station is the Trinity Church entrance and two small graveyards that flank it.
Trinity Church was built in the 1600s, and its gothic revival style is in sharp contrast to all the glassy skyscrapers surrounding it. It’s no St. John’s The Divine, but it’s free to visit, and you can stop by Alexander Hamilton’s grave.
Zuccotti Park is just north of the church. It’s more of a concrete square with stone benches and food vendors than a “park,” but if you need a place to sit or regroup, it’ll do the trick.
Note: This station is smushed in the Wall Street subway convergence zone that includes Rector St RW, Rector St 1, and Broad St JZ. In general, this is an architecturally interesting area to walk around in, especially if you love looking up at tall buildings.
