Norwood Avenue (J, Z)

This a multicultural stop with little-to-no gentrification, and it’s overall a broad-diaspora area with a hodgepodge of offerings along Fulton St, like a tiny community church, a rinconcito selling herbs and gifts, an Indian spiritual facility, and some food places right off the station exit.

If you’re looking for a good cocktail in the area, Mr. Fire Bar & Grill might be your only option! It’s a sprawling establishment where the upwardly mobile Hispanic crowd hangs for birthdays, date nights, and big gatherings.

Other than that, the food options are more hole-in-the-wall but well-rated.

El Pulgarcito de America for Salvadorian Food.

Roti on the Run for Caribbean Food.

In general, if you’re in the area, Project472 suggests strolling along Fulton St, following the JZ line, to get a flavor of Cypress Hills. If you’re wondering, “what’s on Atlantic Ave though?” I can answer that for you: cars, gas stations, and fast food. Stick to Fulton for the culture!
